The Leicester School Committee will meet its obligations as set forth under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) which provides up to twelve (12) weeks of unpaid job-protected leave to eligible employees (those who have worked for at least one (1) year and for one thousand two hundred fifty (1,250) hours over the previous twelve (12) months).

Employees may utilize accrued paid leave while on FMLA leave if they are otherwise eligible for such benefits. However, use of such benefits will not extend the length of the FMLA leave.
