FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS AND EMPLOYMENT
Favoritism based on family relationship will at no time be a factor in the employment, assignment, evaluation, or promotion of personnel. For the purpose of this policy, a “relative” is defined as a parent, child, spouse, sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, or stepchild.
  1. School Committee members may not vote on a motion to employ relatives for any position. Candidates must receive a majority of affirmative votes from School Committee members other than the abstaining relative in order to be employed.
  2. In no instance will an employee be assigned to a position in which he or she would be supervised or evaluated by a relative.
